Following the Election of Directors at the AGM, Tourism Whistler’s
President & CEO, Barrett Fisher, gave a presentation where she provided
an overview of Tourism Whistler’s efforts in 2025.
“Tourism Whistler delivered strong and balanced performance in 2025, with
solid visitation across both summer and winter, and strategic growth in
midweek and off-peak periods,” said Fisher. “These results reflect our
focus on proactively targeting need periods to support a more sustainable,
year-round tourism economy. We saw strengthened domestic demand as more
Canadians chose to travel within the country, and Whistler outperformed
national trends in US visitation, driven by increased marketing investments
and continued appeal among our loyal American guests.”
“Notable highlights delivered over the past year include producing the
Dreams Take Flight: 50 Years and Beyond legacy video to celebrate the
Resort’s 50th anniversary, co-hosting the Invictus Games with Vancouver,
beginning a transformative $10 million renovation of the Whistler Golf Club
and helping secure future opportunities such as the UCI World Cup Mountain
Bike Downhill event coming to Whistler in September 2026,” she added. “We
also continued to invest in community-focused storytelling through
initiatives like the Cultivating Community series and launched new
experiences such as the Whistler Pride Festival, reinforcing Whistler’s
commitment to a vibrant, inclusive and sustainable destination.”
On behalf of Tourism Whistler’s Members, the Board of Directors establishes
the vision and mission, and approves the objectives, strategic priorities
and budgets, ensuring the fulfillment of the organization’s mission and the
association’s continued financial viability.
Tourism Whistler Board nominees do not have to be members of Tourism
