Whistler is located in the spectacular Coast Mountains of British Columbia, on the shared, traditional territories of the Skwx̱ wú7mesh (Squamish Nation) and Líl’wat7úl (Lil’wat Nation). Whistler is a legendary resort town just a two-hour drive from Vancouver along the awe-inspiring Sea to Sky Highway and is proud to be one of the host destinations of Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025. Whistler welcomes the Games’ debut of winter sports alpine skiing & snowboarding, Nordic skiing & biathlon and skeleton. This is in addition to the core Invictus Games sports of indoor rowing, sitting volleyball, swimming, wheelchair rugby, and wheelchair basketball and new winter sport Wheelchair Curling taking place in Vancouver.
Whistler's proven track record of hosting major sporting events, including serving as the Host Mountain Resort for the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, makes it well-equipped to facilitate the Invictus Games. Hosting the Invictus Games further enhances Whistler’s commitment to improving its accessibility, ensuring even more inclusive experiences for athletes and visitors alike.

Four Host First Nations
Whistler is located on the shared, traditional territories of the Skwx̱ wú7mesh (Squamish Nation) and Líl’wat7úl (Lil’wat Nation). Together with the Musqueam Nation and Tsleil-Waututh Nation, they make up the Four Host First Nations of the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025.
The Four Host First Nations joined the bid for the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 to showcase Indigenous leadership in sport, wellness, and reconciliation and to ensure sustainable benefits for their communities and meaningful recognition of their languages, traditions, protocols, and cultures in the planning, staging, and hosting of the event.
The Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025's visual identity honours four Indigenous artists from each of the Four Host First Nations. The artwork was created by Levi Nelson of Lil’wat Nation, Mack Paul from Musqueam Nation, Ray Natraoro of Squamish Nation and Olivia George of Tsleil-Waututh Nation. This was the first time individuals from each of the Four Host First Nations have united to create a single piece of art for a major sporting event. The quartet were chosen by a selection committee of Indigenous leaders based on their diverse artistic mediums, including carving and weaving.

Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre

Whistler Adaptive Sports Program
Whistler Adaptive is committed to introducing individuals with cognitive and/or physical disabilities to sport and therapeutic recreation through tailored year-round programming in Whistler, Squamish and Pemberton. Whistler Adaptive supports sport for life by breaking down the financial, physical and social barriers as well as creating skills that will lead to future employment within sport and beyond.
Whistler Adaptive empowers individuals through access to one of the world’s best mountain resorts, providing them with the environment, support and opportunity to become physically active and focus on their abilities rather than disabilities. Programs are accessible to both children and adults with cognitive and physical disabilities. Whistler Adaptive serves locals in its community and visitors from across Canada and around the globe. Invictus Games Whistler Venues
Whistler Sliding Centre
During the Games, the Whistler Sliding Centre will host Skeleton competitions, where competitors demonstrate speed, precision and fearlessness. This iconic venue was pivotal during the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, hosting the Bobsleigh, Skeleton and Luge events.
Whistler Olympic Park
Whistler Olympic Park will host Nordic Skiing & Biathlon competitions during the Invictus Games. Located in the picturesque Callaghan Valley just south of Whistler, the park is a world-class venue that features over 55 kilometres of cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails. Whistler Blackcomb
Whistler Blackcomb ski resort will host the Alpine Skiing & Snowboarding events of the Invictus Games.
