New and Noteworthy Events at the 27th Annual Whistler Cornucopia

Whistler, B.C.Cornucopia, Whistler’s premier culinary event and annual celebration of food and drink, returns November 9 through 19, and with over 70 events on the schedule there are plenty of ways for the epicurious to tantalize the tastebuds and stimulate the senses in Whistler this fall.

“Whistler Cornucopia continues to evolve year after year to incorporate exciting new experiences that perfectly complement our beloved Signature Events,” says Justina Armstrong, Director of Operations at Whistler Cornucopia. “From drink seminars to winery dinners, to tasting events and culinary demonstrations, Cornucopia celebrates Whistler’s world-class dining scene and offers an unforgettable experience in the mountains.”

Here is a roundup the new and noteworthy events at the 27th annual Whistler Cornucopia:

Mekong: Fine Thai Cuisine & Meyer Family Estate Wines
Located in the heart of Creekside Village, Mekong Fine Thai Cuisine is Whistler’s newest restaurant, first opening its doors to the public in July. The restaurant is joining the Cornucopia lineup with a new winery dinner event on November 10 featuring a thoughtfully curated menu that pays tribute to Thai culinary traditions with wine pairings from Jak Meyer of Meyer Family Vineyards.

Blanc Canvas
Blanc Canvas offers event attendees the chance to unleash their inner artist. Taking place on November 11 at the Audain Art Museum, this new event features an evening of painting led by acclaimed Canadian artist, Fran Alexander, while sipping wine and savouring canapés.

Taste of Indigenous Worlds
Taking place on November 12 at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre (SLCC), this new event brings together six Indigenous chefs from across British Columbia who will showcase traditional cooking and ingredients paired with modern twists. Attendees will be able to wander through the stunning galleries of the SLCC while sampling small plates paired with sample-sized beverages.

Drag Me to Brunch
A new addition to the Cornucopia schedule last year, Drag Me to Brunch returns November 12 to the Whistler Conference Centre. This Signature Event will be hosted by Gia Metric, from Canada’s Drag Race (season 2), along with Genesis and Bibi SouPhresh. Attendees will enjoy mimosas and a buffet of classic brunch fare while being entertained by Canada’s most loved drag queens.

Murder Mystery Dinner at Bearfoot Bistro
At this Signature Event happening November 12, guests will savour a delectable four-course meal at the world renowned Bearfoot Bistro while being immersed in a captivating storyline set around the fictional Dual Mountain Secondary Prom in 1987. Dressed in their finest 80s prom attire, guests will work together to unravel a mystery filled with secrets, suspense and unexpected twists.

Audain Artist Dinner: Garden of Shadows
On November 18, the Audain Art Museum will host an exciting evening where art, nature and gastronomy will collide. At this exciting new event, attendees will enjoy a signature cocktail reception, a Curatorial Tour of Karin Bubaš’ Special Exhibition, Garden of Shadows, and a gourmet multi-course dinner. As an added feature, attendees will have the option to select which table they are seated at when purchasing tickets, allowing them the opportunity to dine with the Artist, Karin Bubaš, the Museum’s Director and Chief Curator, Dr. Curtis Collins, and other members of the Audain Art Museum’s Curatorial and Engagement teams.

And finally, for those foodies seeking the best value at Whistler Cornucopia, the Culinary Stage Series events are a must. Culinary Stage events are like being in the audience of a live cooking show where attendees also get to enjoy the food creations complete with drink pairings.
