Whistler Cornucopia is on Now!
Whistler, B.C. – The first weekend of Whistler’s Cornucopia was a true sampling of the month-long programming food and drink lovers can expect this November. While the Murder Mystery Dinner at the Bearfoot Bistro had guests enjoying delicious cuisine and captivating entertainment, seminars imbibed attendees with a balance of vintner’s knowledge and fine wines.
“We learnt so much in the California Dreamin’ seminar. I wasn’t sure what to expect… but once we were all seated, the instructor was phenomenal: she transported us into California’s vineyards through the wines we were sipping. Taking notes, we decided a wine trip to Napa was a must next year!”
– Rachel Hughes, Seminar Attendee
While Cornucopia events are starting to sell out, there are still plenty of great options available. Of note, consider this weekend’s Drink Seminar: Concrete Beliefs: Wood-Free Wines, where long finishes are served without oaky interference, and Sunday’s Culinary Stage: Welcome to the Hangover Brunch by Chef Julian Bond!, where a four-course breakfast will fill your plate – and glass – to prepare for the week ahead.
For those seeking something more ‘piquant’, let your taste buds lead you on an inquisitive, experimental journey through Cornucopia’s Cellar Door on Friday, November 11, where more than 20 wineries will be pouring top-shelf bottles ($35 & up) of their red, white and sparkling varietals.
“Cornucopia enthusiasts are returning to Whistler to savour the mountains and the sense of normalcy that comes with attending the vibrant events. With a weekend under our belts, we’re thrilled to see the festival kick off with Lower Mainlanders enjoying themselves and planning to return every weekend this month.”
– Justina Armstrong, Director of Operations, Cornucopia
For those looking to combine opening weekend at Whistler Blackcomb with culinary adventure, we recommend securing your seats to the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre’s Cornucopia Fall Feast on Saturday, November 26, where a culinary journey will be brought to life through authentic Indigenous cultural sharing from the Squamish Nation and Lil’wat Nation. And rather than the traditional après on your favourite Whistler patio, substitute in a Drink Seminar at Whistler’s Aava hotel – Tour de France on Saturday and That’s a Wrap on Sunday.
“Wine drinking is for the unfun.” – no one, no where.
Lodging & Packages start at $99 per person, per night. See you this weekend.
