Whistler's 25th annual Cornucopia kicks off this Thursday, November 4

Whistler, B.C. – With just three days to go before Whistler welcomes the return of Cornucopia, Whistler’s celebration of food + drink, events are selling quickly however there are some opportunities remaining to attend the festival’s silver anniversary.   

Taking place each Thursday – Sunday throughout November, Cornucopia’s calendar is teeming with selections fit for every palate and with over 125 delicious events on the schedule, patrons will be counting down the days until next year.

Festival packages are available offering accommodation and the choice of Cornucopia’s Signature Tastings in an easy one-spot-shop. Opening weekend’s Signature events include AP Great Estates Regional Tasting with a few of BC’s best from across the Okanagan Valley and Naramata. Comedy Kitchen brings three sidebusting comedians to entertain throughout the evening. For those missing turkey and all the fix-in’s, grab a seat at the American Thanksgiving table or Poured 2.0 - the tasting aiming quench any thirst.

Fill your days from a seemingly endless selection of seminars – such as Chardcore featuring 10 British Columbian chardonnays. If sustainable practices is a deciding factor when wine shopping, New Zealand: Doing it Right for Future Generations seminar is the perfect fit. With 96% of the country’s vineyards certified by Sustainable Winegrowing NZ – this country is committed to best practices for their products and their people. Other choices include Argentina: Malbec and Beyond, Tour de France: The Beautiful South, Burrowing Owl Meritage: The Sum of its Parts, and then Some!, Top Value Wines, The Wines of Black Hills Estate Winery and so many more.

Learn a trick or two around the kitchen with local and visiting chefs at a Culinary Stage Series demonstrations and there are a few pretty luxe events in place for even the most discerning palate. Lobster, Braised Short Rib & Beer!, Gnocchi Carbonara, Chateau Briand & Wine!, or how about The Bones about Meat & Drink Pairing with Oyama Sausage Company. Hungry yet? Last but certainly not least, the resort’s restaurant partners have rounded out the festival offerings with an incredible array of menus showcasing the talents of Whistler’s food and drink teams. Nita Lake Lodge + Time Winery: Chef & Winemaker Dinner Series over opening weekend. Fairmont Chateau Whistler with a variety of winery partners such as Little Engine, Quail’s Gate or Vanessa Winery. It doesn’t stop there, Bearfoot Bistro’s six course tasting menu paired with the wines from family owned Italian winery, Masi or choose a special evening at Four Seasons Resort Whistler’s Sidecut Steakhouse with Squamish Lil’Wat Cultural Centre and Fort Berens Wine. For something a bit more on the casual side, there’s the Winter Splinter with Whistler Racket Club. An evening around the bonfire with Axewood Axe Throwing, Avalaunch Snowball Blitz and a sampling of the Club’s hot beverages.
