Whistler, B.C. – This fall, discover Whistler’s vibrant arts and culture scene where creative spirits roam free. With everything from First Nations history to fine art galleries, workshops and events, Whistler offers a unique journey of engaging art exhibitions and signature cultural discoveries to revel in.

New this season, the Audain Art Museum will feature over 50 paintings, watercolours, and drawings by Emily Carr in its new exhibit: Emily Carr: Fresh Seeing – French Modernism and the West Coast. The exhibit will showcase the dramatic changes in Carr’s approach to painting after her momentous journey to France and will be available at the museum from September 21 – January 19, 2020.

Over at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre, a new exhibit entitled: AMBASSADORS will celebrate the family and faces of the Cultural Centre staff. The first of its kind, the exhibit will highlight the staff and their families’ strong sense of connection to their land, their cultures, and each other through a series of environmental portraits, artistic creations from ambassadors, and insightful stories shared by Cultural guides.

Add a fun twist on exploring Whistler Village’s bustling gallery scene with a Whistler Wine Walk tour. Every Friday night in October, four public and private galleries will offer a new taste of Whistler’s eclectic cultural mix featuring local and international artwork paired with hors d’oeuvres and wines from BC wineries. Pairing well with Whistler’s bustling art and culture scene, the annual Whistler Writers Festival also returns to the resort October 17 – 20 to celebrate the written word with a schedule packed with workshops, readings, and speaking panels all featuring the very best Canadian and international authors.
