Whistler, B.C. – There is a mountain of frights and delights to uncover this Halloween in Whistler. From trick-or-treating and pumpkin carving, to a frightening horror film festival and a murder mystery dinner, there are plenty of reasons to plan a spooky getaway in Whistler this October.

Arts Whistler kicks off the festivities making sure kids are dressed for a weekend of scares and screams at the Krafty Kids: Halloween Mask Making event on October 25. Moving into the weekend, ghoulish goodies and spooky sweets await trick-or-treaters visiting Whistler Village from October 26 to 28. Kids can pick up a free tote bag from the Whistler Visitor Centre and venture along the Village Stroll to collect sweets from participating merchants. There will also be some spooktacular beats playing at the Whistler Public Library at the children’s Halloween Dance Party on October 29.

Halloween frights don’t end there, as guests can continue the spooky celebration into the night. Various Halloween-inspired club events throughout the week and weekend will welcome late-night party monsters to dance the night away. While film enthusiasts can engage in The Rocky Horror Picture Show and experience the film on the big screen, in the dark, with live actors and a wild Whistler audience on October 28 at the Maury Young Arts Place. For those looking for an extra scream or two, the annual Heavy Hitting Horrorfest will rise for its 15th resurrection on October 30, featuring a creepy collection of short films from independent filmmakers.

The Halloween festivities continue with guests unleashing their creative side at the 1st Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest on October 25. Guests can also play detective while indulging in a five course dinner as Whistler’s culinary delights take on an eerie theme at the Murder Mystery Beer Pairing Dinner on October 29. While a spooky getaway to Whistler will be sure to bring out all the frights and delights available, guests looking for adventure can receive 20 per cent off ziplining and treetop tours when they arrive in costume from October 26 – 28.
