Whistler, B.C. – Celebrate the changing of the seasons in Whistler by taking in a world of art and culture unique to the mountains. Catch Whistler’s creative side on display at Whistler’s First Local Music Festival, journey through the ArtWalk, uncover all six institutions along the new Cultural Connector route or immerse yourself in the world of words at the Whistler Writers Festival.

Find your new favourite local band at Whistler’s First Local Music Festival on September 24 & 25. A lineup of incredible artists from the Sea to Sky region will take over two stages for two days of free, all-ages, festival fun at the Village Square and the Town Plaza. Find the complete lineup and schedule of events here.

Walk the walk at Whistler’s own ArtWalk, on display now until November 30. Arts Whistler presents a collaboration of local art in all new places, with over 30 pop-up galleries making up this year’s ArtWalk. Get up close and personal with a wide range of local art work on display as you take a self-guided tour through the local galleries, cafes, hotels and boutiques that make up the ArtWalk.

Follow the Cultural Connector route to six year-round cultural institutions: the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre, Whistler Museum, Whistler Public Library, Maury Young Arts Centre, Lost Lake Passiv House and Audain Art Museum. Each location tells a different story that makes up the distinct cultural journey of Whistler. For an added artful bonus, keep your eyes peeled for the world-class public art collection displayed around Whistler as you explore the ArtWalk or the Cultural Connector.

Relish in the written word during the 15th annual Whistler Writers Festival from October 13 – 16, 2016. Readers, writers and authors will gather for four days of workshops, readings, panels and conversations. Aspiring authors will not want to miss the Speed Dating Publishing session, where participants will be able to pitch their book ideas to publishers and agents. Read up on the complete schedule here.
