There are places for hikers of all abilities to explore with over 100 km of walking and hiking trails in the valley, nearly 50 km of trails once you head up Whistler or Blackcomb mountains and a wide selection of incredible hikes or walks off the beaten path around Whistler.

Take advantage of the long summer days to experience all that Whistler has to offer during this diverse season.  Explore the walkways in Whistler to cross the following summer benchmarks off your list:

Stop and smell the wildflowers. The short-lived alpine flower season has arrived in Whistler and now is your chance to experience the colours of an alpine flower show. Charge your camera, pack this handy wildflower guide and see how many unique species you can seek out. For prime viewing spots head straight to the High Note Trail on Whistler Mountain or the Decker Loop on Blackcomb Mountain.
Dine at new heights. Pack in (and pack out) a picnic on your hike and experience lunch among the clouds with a view you won’t find anywhere else. For a well-deserved post-hike treat, don’t miss Christine’s on Blackcomb mountain, a delicious full-service dining experience at 6,102 feet.
Spot a true local. As you make your way around the trails of Whistler, keep your eyes peeled for everything from slugs, bugs and rabbits in the valley then check for chipmunks, black bears, whistling marmots or the black tailed deer who call the mountains home.
• Above all, take a hike. Stretch your legs on the newest uphill routes on the Blackcomb Ascent Trails, open for the first time on August 6. Venture over a suspension bridge to the new train-wreck hike or take a walk to the waterfall of your choice. Thanks to gondola accessed alpine, rugged mountain vistas are well within reach.
