Whistler, BC – Racecation season steps in to high gear on July 24, as the Subaru IRONMAN Canada triathlon returns to Whistler on the same day as the inagural Subaru IRONMAN 70.3 Canada. This year’s new addition of the Subaru IRONMAN 70.3 Canada will offer a broader range of athletes the opportunity to challenge themselves to an IRONMAN triathlon among the lakes, mountains and forests of Whistler.

Whistler’s incomparable outdoor playground offers competitors the perfect pre-race training ground, while the growing list of don’t-miss experiences and range of recovery options gives athletes the incentive to turn race day into a racecation. Subaru IRONMAN Canada supporters and spectators will be amazed, not only by the incredible feat of the athletes, but the stunning vantage points from where they watch the race.

For those inspired by the idea of a racecation in Whistler, but not ready to commit to a race just yet, try your hand at creating your own version of a multi-sport day with some of these key activities and experiences:

  1. Go for the gold. Snap the quintessential shot with the Olympic Rings in the Whistler Olympic Plaza. Relive the magic of the Winter Games in Whistler by sliding down the bobsleigh track at the Whistler Sliding Centre. Follow it up with a visit to the Whistler Olympic Park for a shot at the Biathlon.
  2. Get the blood flowing. Ride along the longest, fastest and highest ziplines in North America. Ride through the white water rapids on a raft or jump over them off a 160ft bridge with Whistler Bungee.
