Whistler, B.C. – Whistler is teeing up for a sensational season on the links with all four of Whistler’s golf courses reporting the greens have never looked so good coming out of the winter season.

With Big Sky Golf Club already open and the remaining three courses scheduled to be open by May 6, Whistler is preparing its swing for a stellar season ahead.

The area boasts four championship golf courses: the Arnold Palmer-designed Whistler Golf Club, the Jack Nickalus-designed Nicklaus North Golf Course, Robert Trent Jr.’s Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club, and Pemberton’s Big Sky Golf Club, designed by Robert Cupp. Together, the courses offer an exhilarating big mountain golf experience that is so impressive, guests will want to extend their stay to take advantage of the variety of course offerings.

Big Sky Golf Club
North of Whistler is Big Sky Golf Club, located at the base of the majestic Mount Currie. Big Sky is open for the season and welcomes new additions like  five par 3 holes, perfect for kids or beginners looking to learn the game in a relaxed and low stress atmosphere.

Big Sky’s Wellness Package is back, featuring a one hour outdoor yoga class, a one hour golf lessons, farm to table lunch from a local Pemberton farm and a round of golf or use of the practice facility. Alongside exceptional golf, Big Sky will host a number of exciting events in 2016, including junior golf, yoga on the green, outdoor movie nights, live music and more.

Woody Bishop, General Manager of Big Sky Golf Club sums up Whistler’s championship courses and the Whistler golf experience: "If you ask a foursome that played all four of the Golf Whistler courses, what their favorite course was, there is a very good chance you will get four different answers, in my opinion that is the sign of a great golf destination.

The Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club
Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club, set to open Friday, April 29, is elegantly carved out of the slopes of the Coast Mountain range in Whistler. Golfers will traverse creeks, ponds, stands of ancient fir trees and granite rock while enjoying spectacular views, thanks to elevation changes of more than 400 feet throughout the course. The Fairmont Chateau Whistler redefines big mountain golf, giving visitors and locals a truly authentic big mountain golf experience.

Whistler Golf Club
The Whistler Golf Club is scheduled to open Saturday, April 30, with the driving range already open and operating. The 2016 season is especially exciting for the team at the Whistler Golf Club, thanks to their new partnership with Nike Golf to deliver a new pro shop and performance fitting studio experience.

"Spring preparations are going very well as we work towards our early opening,” said Alan Kristmanson, Director of Golf at the Whistler Golf Club. “The golf course wintered extremely well and we will open in great shape. New for 2016 is our new tee complex on #3. These expanded tees will make the hole more playable off the tee for our guests. Palmer’s Gallery Bar and Grill will open May 6th and will continue to be one of Whistler’s best activity après locations with our deck overlooking the 18th green.”

Nicklaus North Golf Course
Nicklaus North, scheduled to open May 6, is nestled alongside the pristine emerald waters of Green Lake, offering exceptional golf teamed with breathtaking scenery. As the name suggests, Nicklaus North was design by Jack Nicklaus himself, one of only a few golf courses in the world bearing his legendary name.

Nicklaus North is the only semi-private course operating in Whistler, comprising of a par 71, 18-hole course, sure to test your skills to the fullest.

Table Nineteen Lakeside Eatery, Nicklaus North’s club restaurant, offers outstanding food, one of Whistler’s best sun-soaked patios, great value and exceptional service. Love golf and beer? The Craft Your Golf Event is back on May 13. Enjoy a round of sensational golf, five on course craft beer stations, food stations and a celebratory barbeque.
