Whistler, B.C. – Coastal storms have rolled through the mountains, delivering fresh snow in Whistler’s alpine.

Whistler and Blackcomb mountains have welcomed 32 cm of snow in the last 24 hours and it continues to snow today.

As a result, the Peak Chair and 7th Heaven Express will open this weekend, just in time to welcome the costume-clad skiers and riders who take part in the annual Dress Like Santa day on Whistler Blackcomb, dotting the slopes with flashes of red as versions of Santa and Mrs. Claus take to the slopes. The event has become a Whistler tradition, offering a free lift ticket to the first 100 people to arrive at the Garibaldi Lift Company in full Santa or Mrs. Claus attire.

December is a fantastic time to visit Whistler – the resort is well into the holiday spirit, with festive lights and wreaths adorning lamp standards and trees throughout the Village and events like the Whistler Holiday Experience, free family après and outdoor skating at Whistler Olympic Plaza welcoming locals and visitors alike.
