Whistler, B.C. – Whistler invites Americans friends to travel north to celebrate the Fourth of July with free concerts throughout the Village.

Town Plaza, Village Square and Whistler Olympic Plaza will host performances by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra throughout the first week of July. Join us as we celebrate Canada Day on July 1 with the VSO and extend your vacation to include the U.S. national holiday with a full orchestra performance in Whistler Olympic Plaza on Friday, July 4. The July 4 program includes both the Canadian and American national anthems, Bernstein’s Candide Overture, Copland’s Rodeo: Corral Nocturne and Saturday Night Waltz, Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, John Williams’ Star Wars Suite and Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture.

The VSO performances are part of the Whistler Presents Outdoor Concert Series which delivers free outdoor concerts in Whistler throughout the summer.

Also on July 4, Whistler welcomes the 14th Western Regional HOG Rally, with members of the Harley Owners Group as they tour Highway 99 from Squamish to Whistler, where their bikes will be showcased in Skiers’ Plaza.

July 3-6 features the Whistler Longboard Festival with events for spectators and participants, such as the skate bowl jam and boarder cross. The 2014 International Downhill Federation’s Canadian World Cup Downhill Race will take place at the Whistler Sliding Centre.

While in Whistler, be sure to check out the offerings at the Whistler Farmers’ Market in the Upper Village.
