It’s White Friday in Whistler
– winter has arrived!

Celebrate White Friday at #Whistler! #Winter has hit the resort with 27 cm
of fresh in the last 24 hours!
Whistler, B.C. – As the resort gears up for winter, Mother Nature has
gifted Whistler with an early season present – 27 cm of snow in the last 24
hours (for a total of 151 cm in the last week) and another 10 cm in the
forecast for today.
Barely open for the season, Whistler and Blackcomb mountains are already
recording a cumulative snowfall of 163 cm and the alpine base sitting at
120 cm. With the early season snowfall, Whistler is well on its way toward
the 10-year annual snowfall average of 40 feet. Last year, the mountains
had surpassed the average annual snowfall by March – with several months
left in the season. By the time it wrapped up, the 2011/2012 winter season
at Whistler brought with it more than 45 feet of snow!
In addition to the plethora of on and off-mountain winter
activities that Whistler offers, the resort is also bustling with a
robust events schedule.
To mark the official opening weekend, Whistler
Presents: Winter Kick Off continues through November 25 with events and
entertainment throughout the resort.
