Whistler, B.C. – As summer sizzles in Whistler, it’s time to set your
sights forward fall when the resort welcomes Cornucopia
– Whistler’s Celebration of Wine and Food from November 7 – 11.
Now in its 16th year, Cornucopia combines the return of festival
favourites such as the flagship dual-night tasting event CRUSH,
winemaker dinners, chef’s luncheons, the Viking Stage Series, Top
25 Celebratory Reception,
House Party, trade tastings and fabulous after parties with new
additions to the schedule including a night market and cocktail showdown.
Cornucopia is a celebration for the senses, honouring all things food
and wine and is the place to be seen in Whistler, attracting more than
6,500 attendees annually.
Local, regional and international wines are featured alongside the
culinary creations of extraordinary chefs from Whistler and beyond. From a
celebration of local fare with the
Chef’s Trip to the Farm to a journey through the vineyards of France,
Australia and Argentina and almost all points in between, Cornucopia offers
a full schedule of events for all tastes.
New this year is the
Cornucopia Cocktail Competition presented by Alta

concoction in 15 minutes. Creativity, taste, presentation and attitude will
factor into the results of this fast-paced competition.
Also new this year is the Cornucopia

Cocktail
Technician Scot Curry, Alta Bistro
One of Whistler's newest restaurants, Alta Bistro features the finest
local and naturally-raised food with a showcase of hand-crafted cocktails,
wines of character, and micro-brewed beer. Alta Bistro’s cocktail
technician Scot Curry approaches his craft with the same flair and
attention to ingredients as his colleagues in the kitchen. Drawing
inspiration from their surroundings and with a focus on fresh, you won’t
find any powdered juices or canned syrups at their workstations. What you
will find is house-made bitters and infusions, ingredients freshly
harvested, and fruit that is muddled, squeezed and crushed to order. Alta
Bistro is owned and operated by locals Eric Griffith and Edward
Dangerfield.
