Children’s Festival marks the start of a family fun-packed summer in Whistler

Whistler, BC – From lake-side to mountain peak, there are endless amounts of activities for families to uncover in Whistler all summer long.

The Whistler Children’s Festival is proudly celebrated as Whistler’s longest running festival as it makes its return for the 33rd year. From July 8 – 10, the young and young at heart will be delighted by a diverse range of live music, theatrical performances, crafts and workshops covering everything from robot making to soapstone carving. The Whistler Children’s Festival kicks off on Friday, July 8 with a free dance party at the beautiful outdoor festival site in the heart of the Village at the Whistler Olympic Plaza.

For the young artist, Whistler offers a robust calendar of arts activities throughout the summer. Whistler’s newest arts addition, the Audain Art Museum, is open daily (except Tuesdays) and admission is free for youths 16 and under. In addition, the Audain is hosting summer art camps throughout July and August for kids from 5-12 years of age. Children’s summer theatre and arts camps are also offered at The Point and at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre, in the Upper Village, families can learn about the area’s rich First Nations history.

Entertain the little ones and enjoy an incredible line-up of free live performances all summer long at the Whistler Presents Outdoor Concert Series. The Whistler Olympic Plaza will act as the stage for great live music from artists like Jose Gonzalez, Steven Page and more. 

Whistler’s lakes, parks and beaches offer hours of fun in the fresh air. Choose from volleyball, tennis or, do as the littlest locals do and make a splash at the water park located at Meadow Park, just north of the Village.
