Whistler Mountain opens early – and there is still time to save

Whistler, B.C. – Dust off your gear, the wait is nearly over! Whistler Blackcomb announced today that Whistler Mountain will open on Thursday, November 19 – one week earlier than anticipated.

Thanks to a healthy dose of snow in the alpine and a helping hand from the largest fleet of snowmaking equipment in North America, Whistler is readying for an epic winter season – and you can experience it seven days early, and with savings of up to 40 per cent.

Whistler will have five lifts running on Thursday, giving guests the option to upload from either the Whistler Village Gondola, or the Creekside Gondola. Emerald Express, Big Red Express and Franz’s Chair will be running.

Whistler and Blackcomb mountains are seeing favourable early season conditions with the November snowfall currently at 98 cm (38.5 inches), and the forecast calling for another 45 cm (18 inches) to 75 cm (29.5 inches) of snow in the coming days.
