Whistler, B.C. – Whistler – where four distinct championship golf courses await – is home to the ultimate mountain golf experience with superb playing conditions, fresh alpine air and spectacular views from each green.

From lakeside greens to mountain peaks, it doesn’t get much bigger than this. And if you’re hitting the links here, be sure to bring your camera – wildlife is abundant; it’s not uncommon to find yourself sharing the view.

Whistler’s four championship courses – the Arnold-Palmer designed Whistler Golf Club, the Jack Nicklaus-designed Nicklaus North Golf Course, Robert Trent Jones Jr.’s Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club, and Big Sky Golf and Country Club, designed by Robert Cupp, offer an exhilarating mountain golf experience that is so impressive, you’ll want to extend your stay in order to experience the variety of course offerings.

The Whistler Golf Club opened May 9 and General Manager Alan Kristmanson reports that the greens are in great condition. “Although spring came later this year, the new bent grass greens and golf course wintered very well and we look forward to seeing everyone out on the course,” said Kristmanson.

New for this year, Nicklaus North Golf Course is utilizing GPS on power carts, is featuring an unlimited golf package and exciting upgrades to the restaurant and patio. GM Michael Zuccolin is equally optimistic about the upcoming season. “Golf in Whistler really has never been better or more affordable than it is now,” Zuccolin said. “Most people know we have four outstanding courses designed by four of the world’s best designers, but many may not know how affordable the Whistler golf experience is,” he said. "Our accommodation and golf packages start at just $145 per person, per night. The quality of golf, combined with the amenities, additional activities, dining options and first-class Whistler service surely sets us apart.”

The Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club opens this month with a sophisticated new golf cart GPS system designed to enhance speed of play and a Whistler golf travel package. Director of Golf Nick Droulis reports that the greens are in phenomenal shape and are already seeing regular visitation. “This season is shaping up to be one of the most incredible for wildlife viewing,” said Droulis. “We’ve already spotted numerous bears and deer and a bald eagle on the course … sometimes, all in one day!”

North of Whistler is Big Sky Golf and Country Club located at the base of the scenic and majestic Mount Currie. The longest of the four championship courses, Big Sky also has extensive practice facilities and the Big Sky Golf Academy, one of western Canada’s top teaching facilities.
