Whistler, B.C. – Monday February 11 marks B.C.’s first Family Day holiday and with an array of activity, accommodation and event options, Whistler is the place to celebrate.

Family activities such as skiing and snowboarding on Whistler and Blackcomb mountains, sleigh rides, snowmobile tours, snowshoeing, Nordic skiing, ziplining and ice skating are always on the menu at Whistler and on Family Day, many local activity operators are offering discounts on these experiences.

Whistler Blackcomb is offering half-price lift tickets to B.C. residents on Monday, February 11.

In addition, the Whistler Museum is offering entry by donation on February 11 while the Meadow Park Sports Centre is offering family drop-in rates at half the regular price. The Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre is offering discounted family admission passes February 9 and 10.

Guests to Whistler can indulge in the B.C. Family Day stay and ski package which offers accommodation, reduced-rate lift tickets and savings of up to 25% on select Whistler activities. Kids stay free.

The long weekend in Whistler is also packed with exciting events including the King of the Rail presented by Showcase, free drop-in craft station at Millennium Place, kids' yoga jam at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre and Park Rider Ski and Snowboard Sessions.

Families love the Fire and Ice show. On Sunday, February 10, watch world-class athletes flipping and twisting through a fire ring at the base of Whistler Mountain. The Fire and Ice show is performed by members of Whistler Blackcomb’s ski and snowboard school. The free show kicks off at 6:30 p.m. in Skier’s Plaza every Sunday until March 31. And on February 10, the event will culminate with a first-class fireworks display.
