Tourism Whistler Board of Directors Welcomes Three New Members

Whistler, B.C. – The Tourism Whistler Board of Directors has recently welcomed three new members.
Brady Smith, Executive Director at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre, fills the elected position of Director at Large, previously held by Tony Cary-Barnard.
Cary-Barnard retired from his position as the General Manager of the Westin Resort & Spa Whistler at the end of September 2018 and at the same time, after serving three terms, stepped away from his seat on the Tourism Whistler Board.
Whistler Councillor, John Grills, joins the Board in one of the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) appointed positions, previously held by former Mayor, Nancy Wilhelm-Morden. After serving as the Mayor of Whistler for the past seven years, Wilhelm-Morden did not seek re-election in 2018, hence leaving a vacant appointed seat at the Tourism Whistler Board table.
Finally, Craig Beattie, General Manager of Canadian Wilderness Adventures, joins the Tourism Whistler Board in a newly appointed Ex-Officio position. The board decided to add the position to ensure Whistler’s small business commercial sector was properly represented at the Tourism Whistler Board table.
“On behalf of the entire Board, I would like to congratulate and welcome all of our new members to the table,” says Norman Mastalir, Tourism Whistler’s Board Chair. “I would also like to thank Tony and Nancy for their valuable contributions over the years.”
