Whistler, B.C. – As the winter season kicks off in Whistler, a number of accommodation and activity providers in the resort are celebrating awards and accolades for excellence in service and experience.

Beginning with the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler magazine, Whistler and its accommodation providers excelled in the publication’s 31st annual Reader’s Choice Awards. To start, Whistler was named runner up in the Best Ski Resort category, while six of the twelve properties named in the Top Resorts in Canada award category were located in Whistler. The resorts include: the Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside (#2), The Westin Resort & Spa (#3), the Nita Lake Lodge (#5), the Fairmont Chateau Whistler (#6), the Pan Pacific Village Centre (#8) and the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler (#12).

Whistler was also recognized as the Best International Ski Destination at the Global Traveler Leisure Lifestyle Awards this year, which comes as no surprise as guests have the opportunity to explore over 8,000 acres of skiable terrain at the legendary Whistler Blackcomb resort, which officially opened for the 2018/19 ski season on November 22.

“On behalf of Tourism Whistler, I’m thrilled to congratulate all our members who have once again been recognized and aptly awarded this year for their continued success in guest service,” says Barrett Fisher, Tourism Whistler’s President & CEO. “These types of awards are a reflection of our member’s commitment to reach for excellence and their success in creating memorable experiences for our guests.”
