Tree of Life Canada tradeshow benefits Whistler

Whistler, B.C. -- When the Tree of Life Canada tradeshow wrapped up at the Whistler Conference Centre last week, organizers and vendors left behind a significant donation for the local community.

Tree of Life Canada is one of the largest distributors of specialty and natural foods in Canada. They are the Canadian operation of KeHE Distributors, one of the leading U.S. distributors of natural and specialty food products. They have the largest specialty food sales force in the country, representing nationally recognized brands.

The Whistler Conference Centre was the location for their Specialty Food Tradeshow May 6-8, with 275 delegates participating. The accommodation partner was the Westin Resort & Spa – Whistler.

As the tradeshow concluded, there were a number of packaged food products remaining. Those items – which amounted to a small truckload of specialty cheeses, ethnic products, specialty and gourmet grocery and natural organic products -- were donated to the Whistler Food Bank on Friday, May 9.

"Our vendor partners, many of which came from all over the world, were extremely impressed by the hospitality and professionalism of the Whistler community,” said Leeola Zanetti, Director of Marketing – Premium Taste, Tree of Life Canada. “We are proud to donate and help support foodbanks wherever and whenever possible.”

The Whistler Conference Centre is owned by the Resort Municipality of Whistler and managed and operated by Tourism Whistler.

“We are pleased that this opportunity presented itself and that Tree of Life Canada was so generous in supporting the community,” said Karen Goodwin, Tourism Whistler’s Vice President of Market Development and Sales.
