Cornucopia

Whistler, B.C. – Fall is a great time to nourish yourself and your senses at Whistler’s newly-expanded Cornucopia food + drink festival presented by North Shore Credit Union, November 7-17.

New for 2013, the Nourish series focuses on sustainable food and lifestyle choices, health, wellness and connection to the earth. Events include international seminars, hands on cooking workshops, movement and meditation.

Start each Cornucopia day with meditation and yoga before exploring a variety of nourishing topics from the healing arts of First Nations, Feng Shui, the art of making cheese, discovering (and eating for) your Ayurvedic Dosha, GAPS nutritional program, raw food and fermented food and drinks, the Paleo cuisine, skin care from the pantry, healing and anti-aging foods, the Nourish series brings Cornucopia to a new level.

In addition to the new Nourish series, Cornucopia moves beyond the vines, with expanded offerings to include craft beer, cocktail and spirits seminars and tastings.

And, of course, Cornucopia offers even more of its trademark seminars, dinners and entertainment. Highlights include the signature CRUSH Gala Grand Tasting events on the Friday and Saturday nights of the opening weekend; House Party featuring the Best of B.C., the Top 25 Celebratory Reception, the Cornucopia Night Market, the VINOS award show, Indulge, an exciting series of wine seminars, sommelier courses, the Culinary Stage series, chef’s luncheons, the Whistler Chef’s Challenge, winery dinners and after parties.

“May we sit in front of Nestor at the sushi counter?” That may be the most sought-after dining spot in Whistler. Year after year, sushi lovers return for a coveted spot at the Sushi Village sushi bar to be entertained by Chef Nestor’s enthusiasm, laughter and amazing skills. After arriving in Whistler from the Philippines 19 years ago, Nestor honed his skills and knowledge and quickly become one of Whistler’s favourite chefs, known and loved by locals and international guests alike.
